Annular Solar Eclipse

Here's the best shot (I think). I've corrected the orientation so it looks like it would to the 'naked' eye [obviously not a good idea to try that!]

  1. Nice. How long did you spend taking it :-)

  2. In Windows Paint it should have taken about 3 min...

  3. Well I started setting up the 'scope at about 7.30ish. Was ready at about 8.20. Then watched beginning of eclipse visually for 30mins or so. Had to chop a bit of tree down - then panic stations as I couldn't fit the D70 onto the end of the scope - didn't have right attachment - had to cobble something together - all took 40 mins. By 10am I was ready for photos - which I took 80 of over the next hour - different focus and exposure (from 1/50th to 1/3000th sec).

You can just about see the peaks of luna mountains on the limb on the bottom left - very hard to fake is Windows Paint ;)
